They created a distinct style that relied heavily on the rich roots of the American southern traditions of storytelling, even though all but Helm were Canadian. Manuel joined The Hawks when he was just 18-years-old.
In the meantime, the Band (without Robbie Robertson and Richard Manuel) recorded three more albums, and Danko teamed with Fjeld and Andersen for two trio albums, Danko/Fjeld/Andersen in 1991 and Ridin' on the Blinds in 1994. [citation needed] In 1994, Danko was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Band.
Richard George Manuel (April 3, 1943 – March 4, 1986) was a Canadian musician, singer, and songwriter, best known as a pianist and one of three lead singers in the Band, for which he was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994.
