I think Life in a Northern Town is such an iconic, enduring song that even if they had other, more minor hits, they still seem like a OHW- because their biggest hit is so well known.. Crowded House is like that too- they had a second top ten hit on the Hot 100, but Don’t Dream It’s Over was so definitive for them that you’ll sometimes see them pop up on OHW lists.
This is a parody of "Life in a Northern Town" by The Dream Academy, that was a smash-hit across the world in 1985. Obviously the music doesn't match the description under the song title.
