13 de may. de 2024 · Guitarist Jorma Kaukonen and bassist Jack Casady left Jefferson Airplane in 1973 to focus on their band Hot Tuna, and Slick released her first solo album, Manhole, in January 1974. The same year, Slick and Kantner transitioned Jefferson Airplane into a spinoff band called Jefferson Starship.

This project was started by Michael Scotellaro from NJ, along with John Blasi from Italy and Thomas Donhauser from Germany. It was more or less created to help identify tapes correctly.
I’ve read that this side project consisting of Garcia, Lesh, Hart with join-in musicians such as Elvin Bishop, Jack Casady, Paul Butterfield, David Getz, Spencer Dryden got together to just jam out and experiment with personnel/tunes.
