In 1963, he acquired his first electric guitar, a Gibson ES-125T, as a hand-me-down from Jimmie.

  6. “Blues at Sunrise” is mind-meltingly good. The two just sit there trading solos and talking. By the end, after 15 minutes of relentless solos, the producer pipes in from the booth, “We got lots of strings left!” I also really enjoy that they each have their own sound on this album.
