Starring Rowan Atkinson as the titular character and written by Richard Curtis and Ben Elton, it was – and remains to this day – one of the funniest, wittiest pieces of satirical comedy ever.
Blackadder II was the first late night comedy I was allowed to stay up and watch as a kid — it massively informed my sense of humour. I loved it. That and Bottom and RD, with the Fast Show and Harry Enfield programs as well.
