14 de may. de 2024 · Writer / director Irving Franco‘s “Adam the First” is a film that wears its heart on its sleeve, offering an earnest and universal story that should resonate with most viewers. This rough around the edges drama has just the right amount of indie quirk to make it feel unique, but the amateurish writing and clumsy acting detract a bit from the dramatic impact.

Jumping ahead in time, Adam (Oakes Fegley) still lives with the man who’s not his father and a woman whom he calls mother (Kim Jackson Davis), but a disruptive event sets the boy on a quest to find his real father.

14 de may. de 2024 · Adam The First focuses on the eponymous teenage boy (Oakes Fegley), living in a forest with his parents, James (David Duchovny) and Mary (Holly Bonney). In an excellent short scene between James and young Adam (Harrison Hughes), Duchovny calmly and empathetically explains that he is not his birth father, all while assuring him that he is loved and will always be cared for.
