Suddenly, Alice finds herself pregnant and Freddy finally has a way to weasel himself back using Jacob. It was clear that as long as just Alice was there, he had no way to get back into haunting people's nightmares. Alice's pregnancy was only going to last 9 months, so he had to come up with a permanent way to get out.
