Though John Cougar Mellancamp’s version, (released under the name Johnny Cougar) was popular, this was the version played on local radio in our area. This was from Pet Benatar’s first album for Chrysalis, which reached #12 on the US album charts and eventually sold at the Platinum Sales level.
