You watch a mediocre live show on Saturday night and shrug — the writers just couldn’t come up with any good stuff this week. MaceWinnoob. •. Anyone who plays both silly characters and the straight man for lots of sketches is integral to the success of the show. Hader could be the star of the sketch, or be the game show host and take a seat to the silliness in front of him. Same with Beck, but swap game show host with the character of Dad.
