Everyone on Stewart's plane was dead - not sleeping. The 747 had a gaping hole in the cockpit so attempting to insert a pilot to replace the dead crew was at least feasible.

  3. Absolutely the most terrifying crash scene that I’ve seen in any movie (aviation related or otherwise). The violence of it, the way the scene feels like it draws out forever, the helplessness and both shrapnel and bodies everywhere, with the wreckage and bodies burning… it was so visceral.
