Hace 4 días · Shonen Knife, an all-female trio from Osaka, Japan, was formed in 1981 as a direct result of founder-lead singer-guitarist Naoko Yamano's instant infatuation with the music of the Ramones. In 2012, to observe the band's 30th anniversary, Shonen Knife released Osaka Ramones, which featured thirteen Ramones songs covered by the band.
1 de may. de 2024 · MARTIN: The rise of the indie-pop underground in the mid-80s led to artists like Sonic Youth inviting Shonen Knife to open for them in their hometown of Osaka, and even a 1989 tribute album — titled Every Band Has a Shonen Knife Who Loves Them — which included bands like the aforementioned Sonic Youth, as well as L7 and Redd Kross.
