Unton himself fully realised the ungracious nature of his mission, and had no liking for it. Rumour also had it that his reception was not altogether of an agreeable character (p. 13).

It descended with Cublington (q.v.) to William Willoughby, who sold Stokenchurch Manor in 1630 to Henry Lee.
