1 de jun. de 2024 · The song ‘People Have the Power,’ was written by my parents Fred Sonic Smith and Patti Smith and recorded in 1987 for their album ‘Dream of Life’ while my mom was pregnant with me. This is my favorite of her albums - such a dynamic collaboration of love and creativity between my parents, a true example of partnership.
7 de jun. de 2024 · Patti Smith was in Detroit Thursday to accept a special honor. According to the Detroit Free Press, Smith and her late husband, MC5 guitarist Fred “Sonic” Smith, were honored for being ambassadors for Detroit, along with Jack White and Slum Village.
Hace 2 días · Steven Sebring’s 2008 documentary, Patti Smith: Dream of Life, received an Emmy nomination. Smith holds the honor of “Commandeur des Arts et des Lettres” from the French Ministry of Culture. In 2007 she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

She resumed recording in 1988 with ‘Dream of Life’, which contained the artist’s customary call-to-arms idealism (People Have The Power) and respect for rock and poetic tradition.
