Mann excels at putting a bunch of heavyweight actors in the same room and letting them cook. Crowe disappears into the role and it's one of his most interesting. Pacino and Plummer were both robbed of Oscar nominations. I think it's one of Pacino's best performances and Plummer should have outright won. Reply.
I haven't exactly been a huge fan of Al Pacino or Michael Mann. "The Insider" might have turned my opinion around on both of them.
