Hace 6 días · Tuesday, May 21, 2024. John Lennon - Now and Then (1977) John Lennon released Rock and Roll, his sixth studio album, on February 17, 1975, through Apple Records. It was his last until 1980's Double Fantasy, giving way to a period during which he stayed at home, did no recording, and very little songwriting, his "house-husband" period.
I love Lennon´s demos from the house-husband years. One could only hope the production would´ve been great for this hypothethical album, because with Lennon, there´s never a problem with the actual songs. They´re always great compositions at their core (harmony, melody, lyrics, concept), as the demos show.
