I remember each midnight sun. I’d paint while you snored. Perfection. She’s singing now too, about the little green, like the color when spring is born.
"Both Sides Now" was never among my favorite Joni songs until I heard the orchestra version in 2000. She finally had the voice, the skill and the life experience to do song justice. The version on "Clouds" feels like a demo—the simplest possible rendition she could create.
