En 2006 sort le film V for Vendetta qui adapte le comics d’ Alan Moore et David Lloyd avec à sa tête, Hugo Weaving, dont le visage reste caché pendant tout le film derrière le masque du personnage. C’est d’ailleurs l’un des plus gros défis du film pour l’acteur :
