Goku Black is actually a version of Goku from an alternate timeline who has been corrupted by the evil Kaioshin Zamasu. Zamasu’s hatred for mortals and desire for power led him to steal Goku’s body using the Super Dragon Balls, resulting in the creation of Goku Black.
