I've decided to power through the bad times, maybe the luck will even out and I will get some better luck in the next 10 turns. The game has too many good things going for it for me to shelve it. Was just not expecting to get hit hard from start on EASY mode.
I've played hard mode three times on the first scenario with one of the starting houses and have lost each time this far. Normal mode was always a fun time and I'd say I won about 80% of the time (with most of those loses coming from playing the final scenario with the most complex houses). It feels like a different ball park playing in hard mode!
