The group Cephalopoda is divided into three subgroups: coleoids (including squids, octopuses and cuttlefishes), nautiloids (the nautiluses) and ammonites. Ammonites' shells make the animals look most like nautiluses, but they are actually thought to be more closely related to coleoids.
