Adagio for Strings is a work by Samuel Barber, arguably his best known, arranged for string orchestra from the second movement of his String Quartet, Op. 11. By many its considered one of the greatest classical pieces ever written. Barber finished the arrangement in 1936, the same year that he wrote the quartet.
El Adagio para cuerdas constituye una composición de Samuel Barber, probablemente su obra más célebre, arreglada para orquesta de cuerdas a partir del segundo movimiento de su Cuarteto de cuerdas, Op. 11. Barber concluyó el arreglo en 1936, idéntico año en el que compuso el cuarteto.
