Just what the title says. God fucking damn. I've been listening to prog in general for over 6 years but only finally got into Gentle Giant over the past week. I feel like I've unlocked some new psycho-sensory part of myself that I didn't know even existed within me. If that sounded like horse crap, it's probably the joint.
26 de abr. de 2024 · Gentle Giant started strong and aimed at on their debut album. They are certainly among TOP 10 UK progressive bands of the 70's yet underrated by anyone but prog-lovers, probably because the high complexity and lower accessibility.
Jump in the deep end. My favorite GG albums are Acquiring the Taste and The Power and The Glory. Just throw one on and hit play.
13 de may. de 2024 · The symphonic sound of their second and third studio albums, “Three Friends” and “Acquiring The Taste”, repectively, was partially abandoned in “Octopus”, which has at sometimes traces of the hard rock and the folk rock too. It became probably the band’s hardest rocking album until that date.

Während die Musiker sich auf dem ersten Album mit dem Experimentieren noch etwas zurückhielten, gingen sie bei den Sessions für „Acquiring the Taste“ deutlich kompromissloser vor.
