26 de abr. de 2024 · Why is Arequipa called the White City? The city is referred to as La Ciudad Blanca because of the white walls of many of its colonial buildings. The walls are made of sillar which is a local white volcanic stone. Arequipa is definitely one of the most architecturally beautiful cities in the world.
