I really liked The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover, but this second film of Greenaway’s did little for me, I’m sorry to admit. And looking at the rest of his filmography, Greenaway may not be for me. He seems fascinated by structure and artifice in ways that don’t compel me.
