On May 29th, 1945, Procol Harum co-founder Gary Brooker was born in London, England. Beginning with "A Whiter Shade of Pale", Brooker's melancholic vocals and emotive, eclectic piano playing were a key part of Procol Harum's musical mix. Brooker started a solo career in 1979.
