He played harpsichord on The Move's "Blackberry Way" and also played bass with them as a fill in. He was one of a handful of musicians who helped support the original ELO live and became a full time member on ELO 2.

He was known as Thatch to his pals and has a very long association with BRUFC in many roles. I believe his son is the current coach.
