15 de may. de 2024 · Kaylan and Volman (accompanied by Chip Douglas' replacement, bassist Jim Pons) joined the Mothers of Invention as the Phlorescent Leech & Eddie, since the use of the Turtles' name (and even their own names in billings) was prohibited by their contract with their label White Whale Records.
15 de may. de 2024 · The band’s core, vocalists Volman and Kaylan, continued as Flo (the Phlorescent Leech) and Eddie after the Turtles’ dissolution in 1970, working with Frank Zappa, providing backup vocals for other performers—notably British glam rocker Marc Bolan’s T. Rex—and recording and performing on their own.
I think Howard did the majority of the leads with Zappa, check out some Flo and Eddie era live footage on YouTube, it will help you match the voices to the person.

31 de may. de 2024 · They stayed with Zappa for most of the decade and also recorded as a duet billed as Phlorescent Leech and Eddie. Due to contractual obligations signed when The Turtles were conceived, Kaylan and Volman were unable to secure the group name again until 1984.

Howard Kaylan (June 22, 1947) is a founding member and lead singer of 'The Turtles', and "Eddie" of the band 'Flo and Eddie', in addition to 'The Mothers of Invention'.
