Lemon Henry Jefferson (1893 - 1929), AKA Blind Lemon Jefferson, was a blues and gospel singer-songwriter who was one of the most popular blues singers of the 1920s, and has been called the "Father of the Texas Blues". black history. Jefferson was born blind near Coutchman, Texas, and was the youngest of seven or eight children.
