Kenneth Peacock Tynan (2 April 1927 – 26 July 1980) was an English theatre critic and writer. Initially making his mark as a critic at The Observer, he praised John Osborne 's Look Back in Anger (1956) and encouraged the emerging wave of British theatrical talent.
Kenneth Tynan was one of the most famous theatrical critics of the 20th Century. He earned his own permanent place in the history of the English theater when he became the first dramaturg of Laurence Olivier, when the great actor finally realized his dream and became the director of the new National Theatre.
