7 de jun. de 2024 · Prefab Sprout instantly stood out for more than their wilfully perverse name. They were poetic, melancholy and rather adept at a good tune. The albums Swoon and the Thomas Dolby-produced Steve McQueen drew comparisons to Gershwin and Cole Porter for their exquisite songcraft.
It mainly sticks in my memory because it was the very first place I ever heard of Prefab Sprout as the author and/or character really enjoyed Steve McQueen - although if it was a major plot-point or just an inconsequential detail mentioned in passing I simply don't remember.
