22 de may. de 2024 · Saxophonist and composer Rudresh Mahanthappa has been appointed as Director of Jazz of Princeton University’s Department of Music. He will begin his appointment at the start of the fall term. Mahanthappa will succeed Dr. Anthony D.J. Branker, who founded the Program of Jazz Studies in 2008.

The leader’s piquant alto maintains an edgy urgency throughout, as he balances atop a jagged rhythm supplied by bassist François Moutin and drummer Rudy Royston.
