Successful UK pop / glam band. Mud was founded by singer Les Gray and drummer Dave Mount. They formed a band with bass player Ray Stiles and guitarist Rob Davis. On being discovered by producer Mickie Most during a gig, they were hooked up with writer / producer partners Chinn And Chapman.
Dave Mount was brought in to replace him. 1968-71. The line up was now complete, and the boys played their first professional gig on 31st March 1968 at the Marquee Club, where they became a regular attraction, supporting acts such as Terry Reid. In February 1969 Mud provided the backing for Linda Kendrick’s single “I Will See You There”.
