This recording was done for the General Phonograph Corp and was later released in May 1925 as part of Carson’s album, “Complete Recorded Works In Chronological Order: Volume 2 (1924-1925)”.

Also fiddling John Carson gets singled out extra hard because he was also a very ardent KKK member and believed all this shit to his core. Lots of other fiddle players in the 1920s recorded tunes with offensive titles and lyrics but they weren't (publicly) on the same level of true believer as that guy.

Jean Elvin sang The Boston Smuggler to Séamus Ennis at Turriff, Aberdeenshire, in 16 July 1952.
