Elton John's song Levon. discussion. Bernie Taupin originally said he named the song after one of his favorite musicians, Levon Helm, but Helm reacted negatively to the song, purportedly saying, "Englishmen shouldn't fuck with Americanisms." A bit unnecessarily cold in my opinion.
