3 de may. de 2024 · Dream pop (also typeset as dreampop) is a subgenre of alternative rock and neo-psychedelia that emphasizes atmosphere and sonic texture as much as pop melody. Common characteristics include breathy vocals, dense productions, and effects such as reverb , echo , tremolo , and chorus .
I don't think "dreampop" was coined with mainstream pop in mind, but rather "pop" was just meant to distinguish dreampop from both purely ambient music and from the rock format of shoegaze. That said, there are some artists that fit both the pop and dreampop labels.
