Corrosion of Conformity (also known as COC) is an American heavy metal band from Raleigh, North Carolina, formed in 1982. The band has undergone multiple lineup changes throughout its existence, with guitarist Woody Weatherman as the sole constant member.

Started out as a punk band. The members were all teenagers during its original formation in June 1982. On their later releases, they became a crossover/thrash metal band, then turned into their modern sound which blends heavy metal with southern rock and blues.
