Trained as a teacher but outside the school system, he became a very effective revolutionary Marxist educator, training many socialists and trade unionists.

John Carter MacLean (born November 20, 1964) is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player. He is the assistant coach for the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League (NHL).
