It is an expression of being unconvinced by the evidence provided by theists for the claims they make. Atheism is not a claim to knowledge.
I came across this meme and just want to know where it comes from - I hope I'm in the right place! It reads: 'I once saw the face of god, a vast and sudden silence among the noisy heavens. That evening I dreamt I listened to one side of a conversation I should not have overheard. I do not watch the skies anymore. I do not look up'.
Adam walked with god, Noah walked with god, Jacob wrestled with god, then later Moses had to be shielded from the face of god or else he would die. [I know the earlier renditions of god were El, while the Moses encounter was Yahweh, but that doesn’t entirely answer the question.]

Would it be possible for someone to translate "[To love another person is to see the face of God]" into Latin? The context of the phrase is, specifically, in Victor Hugo's Les Miserables. It's featued in the musical, but I'm not certain where it's found in the book - or anything else! Much appreciated, you guys are the best. =) Thank you very much!

Though it could be understood as a paraphrase of Genesis 33:10 when Jacob says to his estranged brother, “For to see your face is like seeing the face of God.””.
