Huey is the son of National Geographic photographer Aaron Huey, who became famous after his TED Talk, America’s Native Prisoner’s of War, gained worldwide attention in 2010. Photo: Peta Pixel. On a road trip through the American southwest, Aaron decided to hand the camera over to his then 4-year-old son.

Aaron Huey (born 1975) is an American photographer, explorer, activist, and storyteller. He is known for his work as a photographer with National Geographic, for whom he has shot many magazine features on a diverse array of subjects from adventure, to war, to wildlife. Aaron is the founder of the Amplifier Foundation, a design lab that builds art to amplify the voices of grassroots movements.

Su padre trabaja para National Geographic y, desde hace unos meses, se dedica a enseñarle los rudimentos técnicos de la disciplina.. No se trata en absoluto de deformación profesional. Aaron Huey afirma incluso que le da lo mismo si Hawkeye (ojo de águila) termina dedicándose o no a la fotografía.
