Medea (1969) is the second of Pier Paolo Pasolini’s three adaptations of Greek tragedy for film. 2 The second half of the film focuses on Medea’s character, but the first half of the film is all about Jason. We see him as a small boy, being raised by the Centaur, and then as a young man of twenty leaving the Centaur’s hut to reclaim his father’s throne.
