Be careful not to do a Somersault, because that will stop you in place for a second or two. Release before hitting a zipper and don't accelerate until the green fire disappears. Smoke will appear in Adventure mode.
OP, this is not bad design. This was just a fad that technology outgrew. If you were stuck with 28.8kbps modems, 1/4" thick nintendo power and 3/8" thick EGM magazines, the stupid ass PANDAMONIUM giveway scam staring your broke kid self in the face all day long... something like this cool diddy kong racing cd would have been cool as hell.
