The news was reported on his management company’s website and on the musician’s Facebook page. JJ Cale (John W. Cale) was born on 5 December 1938, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Eric came up with the idea on the flight to JJ’s funeral, and enlisted friends Tom Petty, Mark Knopfler, John Mayer, Willie Nelson, Albert Lee, Derek Trucks and Don White to play on the album.
