Tras el estreno de la película en Japón, la distribuidora estadounidense GKIDS adquirió los derechos para Estados Unidos y Canadá, con la película ahora siendo titulada como The Boy and the Heron en inglés, usando ese título como base para el mercado internacional, y estrenándose en esos territorios el 8 de diciembre de 2023.
