One of Autechre hit back on the initial BIPP promo in 2013, so we asked Autechre and only Autechre to consider a remix. Unfortunately they were wrapped up in other projects. We persisted, and in 2018 (three years later) sent every SOPHIE stem and SysEx file possible from PRODUCT hoping they might do something unexpected across all the tracks.

14 de ene. de 2021 · Autechre have remixed SOPHIE’s 2013 track ‘BIPP’. Out digitally today, the duo’s remix will be released alongside a previously unreleased B-side from SOPHIE called ‘UNISIL’; Glasgow label Numbers will issue the single on vinyl on January 28. It turns out that SOPHIE and Autechre’s eventual pairing was down to fate. Before SOPHIE became the global arbiter of hyperkinetic pop futurism, the budding bedroom producer acquired a leaked Autechre live recording from 2007 — a document of an explorative phase between Untilted and Quaristice — and promptly sought the hardware they utilised.
