1 de feb. de 1994 · Released in February 1994, Green Day’s third album—and first for a major label—was like a glass of cold water in the face. First off, it was catchy. Not in an oblique, theoretical way, but in a way that was vibrant, sweet, immediate—it wanted to please. Second, it understood the special process of combustion by which angst becomes humor.
Notes: Green Day’s debut album on a major label and their best-selling release with sales of over 10 million in the US alone. The album was recorded in three weeks between September and October of 1993. The original title was supposed to be ‘Liquid Dookie’ but it was deemed to be too gross.
