The Rt Revd Dr Jane Mainwaring was ordained as Bishop of Hertford in a special service in Canterbury Cathedral on Thursday 2 February, alongside two other new bishops. Bishop Jane was then welcomed into her new role in the Diocese of St Albans in a service of celebration at All Saints Hertford, on Saturday 4 February.

  6. Bishop Jane has been Bishop of Hertford since February 2023. She served her curacy in Suffolk before moving to this diocese in 2003 to be a parish priest in Hitchin, in Hertfordshire. In 2015 she became a rural dean and then was appointed as Archdeacon of St Albans in 2020.
