Il Burning Man è un festival di otto giorni che si svolge ogni anno dal 1991 (dal 1986 al 1990 fu svolto a Baker Beach, San Francisco) a Black Rock City, una città che vive solo alcuni giorni, sulla distesa salata ( sabkha) del Deserto Black Rock nello Stato del Nevada, a 90 miglia (150 km) a nord-nord-est di Reno.
Burning Man co-founder Larry Harvey wrote the 10 Principles in 2004 as guidelines for the newly-formed Regional Network. They were crafted not as a dictate of how people should be and act, but as a reflection of the community’s ethos and culture as it had organically developed since the event’s inception.
Burning Man is a network of people inspired by the values reflected in the Ten Principles and united in the pursuit of a more creative and connected existence in the world. Throughout the year we work to build Black Rock City, home of the largest annual Burning Man gathering, and nurture the distinctive culture emerging from that experience.
Burning Man (deutsch „Brennender Mann“) ist ein jährlich stattfindendes Festival im US-Bundesstaat Nevada in der Black Rock Desert, etwa 150 km nordnordöstlich von Reno. Das Festival dauert neun Tage und endet traditionell am ersten Montag im September, dem US-amerikanischen Labor Day.
Burning Man N 1 (ou le Burning Man) est un grand rassemblement, qui se tient chaque année dans le désert de Black Rock au Nevada ( États-Unis) pendant neuf jours. Il a lieu la dernière semaine d'août, le premier lundi de septembre étant férié aux États-Unis ( fête du travail ).
