Gordon Parks was an amazing photographer, poet, film director, composer, human rights champion and so much more. Half Past Autumn beautifully captures the scope of this incredible man and groundbreaking contributions he has made. Both the photos and text are exceptional.
27 de may. de 2015 · I have always taught about Gordon Parks because his images went beyond bombastic to artistic, something a lot of young, contemporary artists need to see. As detailed in the video it was the lesson he learned from Roy Striker, you can't just take a picture and print the word bigot beneath it because it's more complicated than that, even bigots are real people and they may not look bad.

He is best remembered for his photographic essays for Life magazine and as the director of the 1971 film, Shaft . At the age of twenty-five, Parks was struck by photographs of migrant workers in a magazine and bought his first camera, a Voigtländer Brillant, for $12.50 at a Seattle, Washington, pawnshop.
