Duane ping-pongs in and out of the arms of other women, getting himself in the middle of all sorts of marital dramas, and you get the sense that boredom, as much as lust, motivates the town’s general libidinousness.

Now comes Bogdanovich's "Texasville," an almost unprecedented reunion of many of the same people, on both sides of the camera. It is, in a sense, like a high school reunion, taking people we last saw in 1951 and continuing their histories in the early 1980s. The story is again by Larry McMurtry, who wrote a sequel to his earlier novel.
