Sergio Sollima, né le 17 avril 1921 à Rome et mort dans cette ville le 1 er juillet 2015 [1], [2], est un réalisateur et scénariste italien.Actif durant les années 1960 et 1970, il est surtout connu comme réalisateur de westerns et de poliziotteschi (La Cité de la violence).Avec Leone et Corbucci, il fait partie des trois Sergio, qui se sont fait connaitre avec le western italien.

Like many Italian cult directors, Sollima started his career by directing mostly sword and sandal movies that were very popular in the early 1960s. After the genre's popularity quickly died out, Sollima was among the first ones to move to spaghetti westerns.
